Epic Games’ Fortnite has returned to the Apple App Store four years after it was removed, following a court ruling in favour of the gaming company.
The original removal came about when Epic attempted to take customer payments itself, thereby bypassing Apple’s 30% fee on in-game purchases.
Although Epic celebrated a courtroom victory earlier this month, Apple had attempted to appeal the ruling, a move which Epic claimed undermined the court’s decision.
The headphone manufacturer has since complied with the ruling, with Fortnite once again available to download via the App Store.
The row has caused ripples throughout the gaming industry, where many developers argue that the App Store model is prohibitively expensive in terms of the commission taken on each sale.
