Summary
Ubisoft is releasing a major Rainbow Six Siege (R6) update on June 10, titled Siege X, which will be available to existing owners and as free access to new players.
The update introduces a new mode, Dual Front, in which attacking and defending operators join forces; the mode allows players to respawn.
Other new features include improved rappel navigation, allowing players to run and turn corners whilst rappelling, and a new weapon inspect feature.
Ubisoft has developed new technology to combat toxic behaviour in the game, and implemented rewards for positive gameplay.
The update also coincides with the launch of Operation Daybreak, the second season of Year 10, which includes updates to various operators, including Clash.
Players on PC can trial the test server version of Siege X from May 20 to June 9.
Further updates for Siege X include seasonal changes, with three more modernised maps due to arrive in Season 3, alongside a new defender operator and weapon.
Season 4 will mark the game’s 10-year anniversary with a special event and a new attacker operator and weapon.
