As generative AI, or agentic AI, is set to augment human decision making it is important that humans fulfil a supervisory role to ensure compliance with a central governance framework, maintain ethical and security standards and proactively mitigate risk, whilst ensuring alignment with wider company goals and strategic objectives.
To achieve this humans need to be empowered with AI fluency through upskilling and education programmes to foster an acceptance of, and culture of, technological evolution and change.
Work flows and processes also need to be redesigned to identify where humans or AI can most effectively be deployed, either independently or in combination.
Finally, this evolutionary workplace context demands new roles to focus on AI ethics, validation and oversight to guarantee strategic alignment and ethical decision making.
Overall, the evolution of the workplace will be driven by the development of collaborative frameworks that leverage the strengths of AI whilst empowering human creativity and judgement.
