Cybersecurity effectiveness has improved for the first time in three years, rising to 61% efficacy this year from 48% in 2023, according to the 2025 Cybersecurity Perspectives Report released by Scale Venture Partners (SVP) and an industry expert.
Seventy percent of security leaders were best protected against general phishing attacks, with only 28% of firms reporting compromise, and 77% of chief information security officers (CISOs) said protecting AI/ML models and data pipelines was a priority by 2025, an increase from 55% last year.
Agentic AI solutions can help to automate SOC investigations using AI agents to help handle large volumes of security alerts and prevent security incidents, with 75% of firms saying they are interested in using AI for this purpose.
Minimum viable products of agentic AI in cybersecurity need to be redefined due to the speed of change and the fact that agentic AI is becoming more mature and is core to several cybersecurity company platforms.
