Summary
Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba’s Qwen Team has developed an AI image editor, called Qwen-Image Edit, which allows creators to achieve Photoshop-like editing jobs with text alone.
The open source model, which follows the release of the Qwen-Image foundation model, can make edits from subtle appearance changes to broader semantic transformations on images, while preserving the original style and content.
It can add, remove or modify text in English or Chinese, and has a wide range of potential applications including design, advertising, virtual avatars and photography.
Qwen-Image Edit is now available on several platforms including Qwen Chat, Hugging Face, ModelScope and GitHub, with the code open source under an Apache 2.0 licence, allowing enterprises to download and use it for free, potentially saving huge costs from Photoshop and similar software.
