Bandai Namco has unveiled a new title at Summer Game Fest Play Days, Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, coming to consoles and PC in September.
Players control both a sword fighter and a mystic fighter who defend a village from evil god Magatsu and the beasts he has created, harnessing the powers of the Mystic Tree.
The cruisers through various lands, fighting different sized monsters as the players levelling up their powers and abilities, as well as the weapons of the fighters.
The game is a rogue-lite, so progress can be reset upon death, but the progression stays with the player, who can then choose different fighters for their next attempt.
The art style is reminiscent of Eastern watercolours, and the musical score is composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto.
The game will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and Nintendo Switch.
