Summary
Out of Words is a co-op platformer where players must find the lost voices of the characters, who have lost their mouths and can no longer speak.
The game is scheduled for release in 2026 on PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
Developed by Kong Orange and WiredFly, it features poetry by Morten Søndergaard and was directed by Johan Oettinger.
Out of Words won over gamers at this year’s Summer Game Fest with its intriguing story and gameplay that blends stop-motion animation with gamplay mechanics.
The game is designed to bring players together online or locally to communicate and cooperate in a story about first love, set in a hand-crafted world of stop-motion animation.
Players take on the roles of Kurt or Karla and must work together to solve puzzles and perform daredevil moves to save their friendship and the world.
“It’s about love. It’s a coming-of-age story,” Oettinger says. “You have to play together, either online or like we are doing now, sitting next to each other, cross-platform with a friend’s pass.
