Obsidian Entertainment has released a new trailer for its upcoming RPG The Outer Worlds 2, which gave more information on the game’s story and namesake, and announced a release date of 29 October 2022.
The game is a sequel to the original The Outer Worlds, which was released in 2019, and accordingly to the game’s store page, players will be investigating the Arcadia colony, which is being invaded and consumed by a war between the Protectorate (an authoritarian government), a religious rebellion against that government, and a corporate invasion.
Players will be able to recruit companions, influence the growth of the colony and pursue any one of several different narrative paths throughout the game.
The trailer also showed the game’s signature dark humour and satirical take on corporate culture and capitalism, which was a prominent feature of the original game.
