Summary
Threat hunting platform Trellix has discovered a newly developed information stealer written in the programming language Rust, which has been named Myth Stealer.
The malware has been marketed on Telegram since December 2024 and is specifically targeted at games.
It offers advanced features for gamers, enabling cybercriminals to gain unauthorised access to sensitive data contained within Gecko and Chromium-based browsers, including passwords and autocomplete data.
The stealer is offered on a subscription basis, costing either weekly or monthly, and can be bought using cryptocurrency or Razer Gold microtransactions.
Following the shutdown of its initial Telegram channel, the group behind the malware created a new one to share updates and new Rust code versions, allowing users to integrate the latest builds into the malware.
