Unity’s asset manager powers BMW’s 3D mine platform

Unity has announced that German car manufacturer BMW has chosen Unity’s Asset Manager to power its 3D asset management platform, 3D Mine, as the company pushes ahead with its digitalisation strategy.
The cloud-based platform is designed to help BMW overcome problems such as version control, inconsistent file formats and collaboration between employees, and will give the car manufacturer a single source of truth for its 3D assets.
“We’re proud to support BMW Group’s push toward a smarter, more connected future,” said Unity COO Alex Blum.
As part of the agreement, Unity’s broader ecosystem will also provide BMW with advanced visualisation and real-time collaboration, enhancing workflows across the company’s design, engineering and marketing functions.
