Emptyvessel expands Defect game with $11M raised to date

Independent gaming start-up Emptyvessel has closed a $11m funding round, including an initial seed round and its latest Series A investment drive, which will go towards the continued development of its first game, Defect.
The funding round was led by NCSoft and 1AM Gaming, with support from Black Phoenix Games, Anurup Joseph, Sebastiaan Hejne, Sisu Game Ventures, Raptor Group and Compute.
Defect, a immersive objective shooter game set in a dystopian future is currently in development for platforms PC and console.
The company has a core team of 14, but plans to grow its employee headcount in the next year with a focus on sustainable game development and innovative game design.
Defect is currently available for wishlisting on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with a full gameplay reveal due in the near future.
