Burgschneider blows past Kickstarter goals for Middle-earth Brandywine Festival

German live events company Burgschneider has successfully reached its Kickstarter target to hold The Brandywine Festival, its first live game event in the US.
The company, which specializes in live immersion games, exceeded its target by 429%, raising $529,000 from nearly 1,100 backers to host the live-action role-playing festival in partnership with Middle-earth Enterprises.
The event, which will take place in Harrodsburg in Kentucky from 7-12 October 2025, will feature narrative games honouring J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, along with food, costumes and fireworks.
CEO Markus Boehm said he sees the potential for immersive live gaming to be “huge” following the success of the Kickstarter.
The Frankfurt-based company, which has sold more than 20,000 event tickets and sold tens of thousands of garments over the past 20 years, now plans to expand its US business and offer more events for different IPs.
