Encharge AI unveils EN100 AI accelerator chip with analog memory
1 min read
Summary
Start-up Encharge AI has created the Encharge EN100, an AI accelerator made to bring AI-enabled devices into everyday use.
The accelerator is built upon analogue in-memory computing, making the EN100 up to 20 times more power efficient than its nearest competitor, and capable of performing up to 200-plus TOPS of total compute power.
The EN100 uses this efficiency to quietly handle computing tasks that usually require specialist data centre hardware, such as real-time computer vision and generative language models.
The accelerator will be made available to developers and OEMs in two forms: as an M.2 card for laptops, and as a PCIe card for workstations.
