Summary
Salesforce is buying company Informatica in a deal worth $5.3bn as it looks to expand its experience with AI.
It is hoped the acquisition will allow Salesforce to create an integrated architecture to let AI agents operate at scale across companies, with the intention of improving data management and operations.
As part of the deal, Salesforce hopes to combine Informatica’s data catalog, governance and quality solutions with its own data cloud, agentforce, tableau, muleSoft and customer 360 platforms.
“This positions Salesforce to deliver a unified customer data fabric, enabling a truly end-to-end platform for data, AI and analytics,” said Forrester analyst Noel Yuhanna.
