Video game sales in the US fell between April 2024 and April 2025, with total sales down 3% and content sales (including DLC, subscriptions, etc) dropping 2%.
Sales of video game hardware were down 8% in April 2025 vs April 2024, with the lowest monthly hardware total since July 2020.
Despite this, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was the best-selling game in April 2025 and became the third-bestselling game of the year to date.
It was the top-selling game on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
Other strong performers included Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which benefited from releasing on PlayStation 5.
In the year to date, sales were down 6% on content and 13% on hardware.
The best-selling game of the year to date is still Monster Hunter: Wilds.
