Summary
Gaming companies Starbreeze Entertainment and The Gang have launched a new game titled Out of Sight, which challenges players to guide a young girl named Sophie, who is blind, through a haunted mansion.
The game is available on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch in June, as well as on Steam VR, with versions on Meta Quest and PlayStation VR2 set to launch soon.
Out of Sight was first developed as a student project by a small team at Sweden’s Futuregames academy, which believed in the power of innovation and perspective in gaming design.
Players take on the perspective of Sophie’s teddy bear, needing to rely on instinct, sound and feeling to navigate the world and solve puzzles.
The game aims to offer a unique take on the horror genre by presenting a story that is personal, eerie and emotional, according to Anna Erlandsson, media and community lead at The Gang.
