Summary
Sonos is adding Hugo Barra to its board of directors as it attempts to move on from its redesign app controversy.
Barra is an industry veteran who has held senior leadership positions at Google, Xiaomi, and Meta.
At Google, Barra was instrumental in developing the Android ecosystem and he also has experience with AI from his current role as co-founder and head of product at dev/agents.
Sonos has also revealed it is revising its product roadmap, which includes cancelling its streaming video player named Pinewood.
However, it is pushing ahead with plans for a dedicated AV receiver and a second Era 100 speaker, which recently got a price cut.
Employee morale has improved under interim CEO Tom Conrad, who is shaking up Sonos’ leadership team.
