Summary
Microsoft has announced details of two new AI agents for Microsoft 365 Copilot, which it claims are the first of their kind, called Researcher and Analyst.
Researched relies on OpenAI’s deep research AI model and provides access to third-party data connectors for Salesforce and ServiceNow.
Analyst is based on OpenAI’s o3-mini reasoning model and can turn raw data into spreadsheets, write Python code, and produce reports.
Both will be available from April in an early access programme alongside new autonomous agent capabilities in Copilot Studio, which Microsoft says are powerful enough to automate any task.
This follows Google and OpenAI’s recent AI news updates.
