Infinix’s new concepts use solar power to charge your phone

Summary
Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Infinix displayed two prototype solar-powered phones at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, with an integrated solar panel on the back of one phone and a solar-charging phone case for the other.
Both devices use perovskite solar cells, which are cheaper and thinner to produce than standard silicon solar cells and are designed to charge phones via Maximum Power Point Tracking, which regulates voltage to manage heat and prevent phones overheating.
The phone case design can be swapped out for a regular case and is envisioned as a useful backup during a power cut.
Also at MWC, Infinix revealed its second-generation colour-changing E Ink phone, with a more customisable colour-changing back panel that runs on the phone’s internal battery.
