Today is your last chance to grab a PS5 before Sony’s price hikes go into effect

Sony has announced plans to raise the price of its PlayStation 5 (PS5) console in the US in response to the ongoing trade war with China, which has seen tariffs placed on international goods.
The price of the digital edition of the console will rise by $50 t o$ 499.99, while the price of the standard console will rise to $549.99 an d t h e PS 5 P ro w i ll in cre a se t o$ 749.99.
The Verge has suggested that the best time to buy a PS5 would be today to avoid the price increase at retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.
The price rises take effect from 21 August 2021.
The price increases are similar to those implemented by Nintendo earlier this year on its original Switch console.
