Microsoft employees occupy headquarters in protest of Israel contracts

Around 50 Microsoft workers and members of the local community have taken over the company’s headquarters in Washington, renaming the area to “The Martyred Palestinian Children’s Plaza” and pitching tents, including a sign telling executives to negotiate an end to the company’s links to the Israeli military.
The protest is part of a string of demonstrations targeting the company over its work with Israel, and comes following an investigation that revealed the Israeli government was seeking to store recordings and data of up to a million calls an hour made by Palestinians.
The No Azure for Apartheid group has called on Microsoft to cut ties with Israel, as well as for an end to “genocide and forced starvation”, reparations to Palestinians, and an end to discrimination against pro-Palestine workers.
The group has also released a document calling on Microsoft workers to speak out and protest, as well as for other companies to cut ties with Microsoft.
