Google Home adds scheduling for older Nest thermostats

Summary
Google has upgraded the Google Home app to allow users of the 3rd generation Nest Learning Thermostat and the Nest Thermostat E to schedule temperature changes using the app, removing the need for the dedicated Nest app.
The roll out started last week and users should begin to see the function in the next few weeks.
This latest news follows last year’s announcement that Google would be ending software support for the original Learning Thermostat and the 2013 sequel.
As well as providing easy scheduling, the Google Home app will also mirror the Nest app’s existing schedules and provide additional functionality for setting sensor and fan schedules.
Alongside the announcement regarding the older Nest models, Google also revealed a host of aesthetic and functionality upgrades for all Nest thermostats.
