Summary
It’s no secret that Microsoft’s next-gen Xbox has been in the works for some time, and now it looks like the company has given us a glimpse of what to expect via its recently announced partnership with Asus and its new Xbox Ally handhelds, running a full-screen Xbox UI.
While these handhelds only natively run PC games, Microsoft is clearly focused on bringing more Xbox to more devices, and it’s a safe bet that this will be a major part of its next-gen Xbox strategy as well.
It’s all part of Microsoft’s plan to offer gamers more choice, and allow them to buy Xbox consoles from different PC makers without ever seeing the complexity of Windows.
The success of this strategy will come down to Microsoft’s execution, which has historically been lacking in the gaming space.
