Hands on with macOS Tahoe 26: Liquid Glass, new theme options, and Spotlight

Summary
Following the announcement of Apple’s new Liquid Glass design language at WWDC last week, The Verge has published its first impressions of the new macOS Tahoe 26, which will incorporate the new design theme.
So far, the site notes that the aesthetic changes range from “slick” to “slightly overwrought” and that some elements, such as new pop-ups for volume and brightness and the new Spotlight search features, are “nifty and useful”.
Liquid Glass elements are more like accents on the Mac’s larger screen real estate than they are on the iPhone.
Widgets now live on the desktop rather than requiring a swipe-over of the Notification Centre, and the Appearance menu lets you change Tahoe’s overall looks.
macOS Tahoe’s Spotlight search now offers shortcuts to finding files, launching apps, performing actions, and accessing clipboard history for power users.
The site notes that this is Apple “sherlocking” Raycast, a much more customisable and expansive Spotlight alternative.
