Summary
Google has announced a new feature for newer Pixel phones, called Pixel VIPs, that aims to help users stay connected with the important people in their lives.
The feature can be used to add personal notes about favourite contacts, see real-time location information when it’s shared and see when the last contact was made.
It allows VIP contacts to override Do Not Disturb settings so that important calls or messages aren’t missed.
It has a timeline interface that includes details such as birthdays and anniversary dates, and it integrates with Google Messages and WhatsApp.
Using the feature, users can leave memos about gift ideas or interests, as well as see recommendations for shared activities.
It is rolling out to Pixel 6 phones or more recent models from 10 June.
