Summary
Digital bank Starling has added an AI-powered tool to help customers find out more about their spending habits, such as how much is spent with a particular retailer over a given time, or the amount spent on eating out.
Known as an “enhanced search” feature, it allows customers to ask questions about their spending and receives answers in the form of graphs and analytics, as well as a breakdown of individual payments to retailers.
Harriet Rees, CIO of Starling Bank, said the tool had been designed to let people engage with their finances “in a way that feels natural”.
Starling, Monzo and Revolut are among the digital-only challenger banks looking to take business away from traditional banks in the UK.
