Apple has released an updated version of its iPhone operating system, iOS 26, which includes a range of new features and improvements.
The biggest update is the introduction of a new design across the operating system, called Liquid Glass, which features translucency and real-time rendering.
iOS 26 includes updates to the Messages app, allowing users to customise group chat backgrounds and create polls, as well as adding typing indicators.
Call screening and ‘hold assist’ features are also new to the Phone app, whilst the company’s Live Translation feature can now translate calls in real time.
The new Apple Intelligence features include Visual Intelligence, which allows users to take action on objects seen on screen, and Genmoji, which combines two emoji into one.
A new Games app will centralise gaming information, and Arcade browsing.
iOS 26 is available in beta for developers, with a public beta releasing in July, ahead of a wider release in the fall.
