Microsoft and Asus have partnered to create two handheld gaming devices, which include an all-new, full-screen Xbox experience on Windows.
The devices are designed to focus on gaming and hide the complex intricacies of Windows, with the aim of making the gaming experience less frustrating and confusing for users.
The white ROG Xbox Ally device is designed for games at 720p, while the more powerful black ROG Xbox Ally X is aimed at gaming on the go at 900p to 1080p.
Both devices have a 7-inch 1080p screen and a 120Hz refresh rate, as well as VRR support.
The Xbox Ally uses an AMD Ryzen Z2 A chip, combined with 16GB of LPDDR5X-6400 RAM and 512GB of M.2 2280 SSD storage.
The Xbox Ally X upgrades the chip to AMD’s Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, 24GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory, and a 1TB M.2 2280 SSD.
Microsoft has included a new dedicated Xbox button on these handhelds, which boots users to the Xbox interface and allows them to access their full Xbox console library.
