Apple’s leaked 45W MagSafe charger is first to support Qi2.2

Summary
Two MagSafe chargers, with a power output of 45W and compatibility with the upcoming Qi2.2 standard, have reportedly been identified on Taiwan’s National Communications Commission site, hinting they could be timed to accompany the launch of the iPhone 17.
If legitimate, this would signal a significant enhancement to Apple’s current capability, with the iPhone 16 capped at 25W MagSafe charging and Qi2’s 15W limit.
Expected to be officially certified, Qi2.2 is an update to the Wireless Power Consortium’s Qi charging standard and will incorporate support for 50W wireless charging, almost triple the previous maximum.
Apple is a prominent member of the WPC and made a contribution of MagSafe’s magnetic technology to Qi2, as well as helping to establish the standard.
It’s worth noting that Apple hasn’t confirmed any of the information in the leaks and is unlikely to do so until its official launch.
