Sources at Apple have told website 9to5Mac that a new feature will be launched at next week’s WWDC, allowing users to control their iPhones or iPads cameras via their AirPods.
Tapping the AirPods stem will enable users to take a picture without touching their phone, which the website says could be useful for taking pictures whilst using iPhone cameras as a tripod for higher-quality photos.
Other rumoured new features include automatic pausing of audio when users fall asleep whilst wearing their AirPods, a new head gesture to extend the volume adjustment of Conversation Mode, and a “studio quality” mic mode to improve audio whilst using conferencing and social media applications.
The company is also reportedly working on streamlining the connection of AirPods to shared iPads for students.
