Live streaming platform Twitch has announced a range of upgrades at its TwitchCon Europe event, including vertical streaming and a higher quality of broadcast.
Vertical streaming will make it easier for viewers to watch content in portrait mode on mobile phones, while streamers will not have to choose between vertical or horizontal streaming, being able to offer dual-format streaming.
The open beta of “2k streaming”, offering a resolution of 1440p, will be available to all Twitch partners and affiliates, offering an enhancement on the previous 1080p streaming.
Viewers will also be able to rewind live streams to catch anything they may have missed.
Twitch CEO Dan Clancy previously announced future upgrades would be coming to the platform as part of his 2025 vision.
