Summary
Google-owned video platform YouTube is to integrate its Lens feature into its Shorts video feed, allowing viewers to find out more about items featured.
After pausing a Short, users can tap the Lens button and circle an item to bring up visual matches and search results, superimposed over the Short.
YouTube highlighted the ability to identify a landmark in the background of shorts and find out more about it, with the option to then jump back to the content.
Lens recently gained the ability to identify objects in videos and real-world shops, and to help users shop for items.
The new feature is rolling out in beta over the coming weeks.
