Apple is reportedly going to rename all of its operating systems

Summary
Bloomberg has predicted that Apple is going to change the way it names its operating systems, instead of numberating them according to the year they will most closely align, i.e. the next iOS will be called iOS 26, rather than iOS 19, as it would have been under the old system.
This is similar to the way in which car manufacturers name their models, and is intended to make the company’s software offerings simpler and more consistent.
The new naming system will be unveiled at the start of the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference on 9 June.
It is also expected to unveil a new design for its operating systems, inspired by the Vision Pro’s visionOS.
