Apple’s Self Service Repair programme will cover a range of iPad models, including mini, Air and Pro versions set to launch tomorrow.
Customers will be able to order spare parts, repair kits and tools required for the repairs of displays, batteries, cameras and charging ports, although costs for the kits have not yet been announced.
The programme originally launched in 2022 for iPhones and has since expanded to Mac computers and MacBooks, and is set to extend to Canada this summer.
Additionally, MobileSentrix will be added in the US as a parts distributor, as part of Apple’s Genuine Parts Distributor programme.
This will allow third-party sellers to offer official Apple parts to independent repair shops.
The move comes as Apple faces increased pressure to allow users to repair their products more easily and cheaper, whilst reducing electronic waste.
