Leaked images and video, along with a new Federal Communications Commission (FCC) filing, suggests that Chinese drone manufacturer DJI is preparing to release three new drones – the Mini 5 Pro, Avata 3 and Neo 2 – and a new action camera, the DJI Osmo Nano.
Videos and images show the design and features of two of the drones, both of which appear to be successors to existing models.
The Avata 3 shown in the footage has a different layout than its predecessor, with a larger camera and a rear-positioned battery, while the Neo 2 is seen with redesigned propeller guards.
The FCC filing for the Mini 5 Pro reveals that the drone will have a significantly improved battery over its predecessor, with a capacity of 33.5Wh, and will also support video transmission over a range of up to 15.5 miles – 5 miles further than the previous model.
All three drones are expected to be launched in September, with no news on a potential release date for the Osmo Nano.
