Sportswear giant Nike is set to start selling products directly on Amazon, after a six year absence, whilst also planning price increases from 1 June on most of its sneakers and clothing amid US tariffs.
The company previously stopped selling on the platform in 2019, blaming Amazon’s failure to combat counterfeits and unlicensed sellers, as well as its desire to focus on its own direct-to-consumer sales.
Since then, Nike products have only been available on Amazon from third-party sellers, but the company has now told those merchants that they have until 19 July to stop selling some Nike items.
The price rises will affect adult clothing and shoes priced at over 100,withincreasesofbetween2 and $10, although cheaper items and children’s products will be unaffected.
