The Threadripper Pro 9995WX chip offers 96 cores and 192 threads and 384MB of L3 cache, and is 2.2 times faster than Intel’s 60-core Xeon W9-3595X CPU in Cinebench 2024 multi-threaded rendering, according to the company.
The Threadripper 9980X offers 64 cores and 128 threads, a base frequency of 3.2 GHz and 320MB of L3 cache.
Both chips will operate at a thermal design power of 350 watts and will be available from July, although AMD has not announced official pricing as yet.
The new CPUs can be used with existing motherboards that support the sTR5 socket after a BIOS update.
