Video game Thrones developer Epic Games and Apple have reached an agreement that has seen Fortnite returned to the Apple App Store.
Fortnite was kicked off the Apple App Store in 2020 for violating Apple’s in-app payment rules.
Following a court ruling in the Epic Games v. Apple case that forced Apple to forgo fees from purchases made outside of apps, the game is once again available to US iPhone users.
Epic Games CEO, Tim Sweeney, had said the company would bring back Fortnite to iOS in the US, provided Apple extended the court’s “friction-free, Apple-tax-free framework worldwide”
Epic Games submitted its application to Apple on 9 May, but Apple blocked the return to the App Store, also making the game unavailable on other alternative app stores in the EU.
Following a joint notice filed by Epic and Apple on Tuesday, all issues appears to have been resolved.
