Microsoft is putting AI actions into the Windows File Explorer

Summary
Microsoft is integrating artificial intelligence (AI) shortcuts, known as AI actions, into File Explorer for Windows 11.
This allows users to right-click on a file to quickly use AI features such as blurring photo backgrounds, removing objects and summarising content from Office files.
Four image-related AI actions are currently being tested, including Bing visual search, and the ability to blur background and erase objects directly from Photos.
The remove background option is also available in Paint.
Microsoft also plans to test AI actions for Office files soon, such as document summarisation and AI-generated lists, available to Microsoft 365 commercial subscribers with a Copilot licence.
There will also be some updates to the widgets feature, with a new personalised and engaging feed, including Copilot-curated stories.
Power consumption on laptops and tablets will also be reduced with a new power-saving feature that increases efficiency during periods of inactivity.
