On iOS and Pixel phones, Google has updated its logo by blending its colours into a gradient, whereas they were previously presented as distinct blocks.
This is the first time the logo has been changed since 2015, when the company updated its font to a sans-serif typeface.
So far, only iOS and Pixel phones are displaying the new logo, while other Android devices and Google’s web domain continue with the traditional layout.
It is not yet known whether this is a test version or an imminent full rollout.
The new logo is said to mirror that of Google’s Gemini logo.
