OpenAI is aiming to create a general AI that outperforms humans in every aspect, including reasoning, decision making and creativity, according to chief research officer Mark Chen and chief scientist Jakub Pachocki.
While many believe that AI is not a threat to humans due its inability to deal with emotional decision making and creativity, OpenAI’s twin research heads disagree.
Instead, they state that the competition in coding and mathematics is simply about creativity and novel ideas, and the ability to combine these in new and interesting ways, which is what AI is increasingly being trained to do, acting more like a human.
The more AI can think like a human, the more useful it will be, and that is OpenAI’s end goal according to Chen and Pachocki.
