The Trump administration has shut down more than 100 climate studies

Summary
More than 100 US climate-research projects are set to be handed funding cuts after the Trump administration ended funding for projects related to the National Science Foundation (NSF).
Projects already affected by the cuts include efforts to develop cleaner fuels, measure methane emissions, establish the impact of rising temperatures on marginalised communities and work to transition communities to sustainable energy supplies.
The NSF has said grants that do not adhere to its wider goals, such as “environmental justice” are set to be cut.
The move to slash the funding comes as the Trump administration attempts to slash revenues and cut research funding for universities.
Several universities and states have now filed lawsuits against the Trump administration over the funding cuts.
