Google has rolled out an update to fix the previously issued update that rendered some second generation Chromecast devices incompatible.
The bug, which caused an “untrusted certificate” error and prompted some users to perform a factory reset that prevented them from reinstalling the device, was initially discovered by a Reddit user.
It affected particularly older Chromecast models, however, Google has not confirmed which specific certificates caused the problem.
The company is also working on a solution for those who had performed factory resets, and still cannot set up their devices.
