Google Play is the default and convenient place to download apps, however, there are a plethora of alternative app stores that provide more openness, prioritise privacy or just offer a nice change of pace.
Samsung owners already have a solid alternative to the Play Store in the form of the Galaxy Store,which offers exclusive apps, custom themes, icon packs and apps for the Galaxy Watch.
Aurora Store is another Google Play alternative, it is open source, lightweight and allows apps to be downloaded directly from Google’s servers without needing a Google account.
APKMirror is a safe site for downloading APK files and allows users to download apps that are not available in their region or roll back to an earlier version.
F-Droid is a goldmine for anyone who loves free, open-source apps, absent from Google Play, and features an anti-corporate attitude with no ads, tracking or permissions.
However, the interfaces of these alternative stores generally are not as user friendly as Google Play.
