One of Google Photos' Most Promising Features Just Got Delayed

Summary
Google has paused the roll out of its photo search function ‘Ask Photos’ which has been under development since last year and was created to make it easier for users to find specific images.
The pause comes after a notable decrease in the functionality and usefulness of the app.
In a blog posted on X, Google Photos product manager, Jamie Aspinall, announced the company’s intentions to spend more time working on the speed, quality and UX design of the feature in order to re-launch it more effectively within the next couple of weeks.
This is not the first time Google has had to amend the functionality of one of its AI features; last year it had to amend its ‘AI Overviews’ search tool to stop it offering erroneous search results.
The quiet roll out pause is beneficial as ‘Ask Photos’ has yet to be released widely.
