Next Time Your iPad Breaks, You Can Fix It Yourself

Summary
Apple has expanded its self-service repair program, which provides parts, tools and guides to fix some popular iPad models yourself, to customers in the US, it announced last week.
The models covered by the program are the iPad Air (M2 and later), iPad Pro (M4), iPad mini (A17 Pro), and iPad (A16).
The program launched in the US in 2019 but was only expanded to include iPhones in 2022; it will now be extended to Canada this summer, and will be available in 34 countries worldwide.
It gives greater flexibility to fix devices on your own schedule, but Apple cautions it is intended for experienced fixers and not aimed at casual DIY-ers, as mistakes can cause damage or safety risks.
It also provides a potential solution for customers in non-urban areas without easy access to official Apple stores or authorised repair centers.
