Norwegian web browser maker Opera has released a new browser featuring an in-built artificial intelligence (AI) that can carry out background tasks, such as researching and booking travel tickets.
Dubbed Opera Neon, the new offering also features an AI agent that can understand and interact with web pages, and work offline.
The firm says the AI agent will be able to make simpler games and other tasks at a user’s request.
Currently, the browser is being offered on an invitation-only basis, with a full launch expected soon.
“Neon is not a replacement for our existing browsers… it is a playground for us to innovate and experiment,” said the firm’s head of AI.
