Google is including the ability to rename fingerprints already stored on your phone as part of the forthcoming Android 16 release, according to Android Authority.
This functionality has been available on Samsung phones for some time.
However, the new Android 16 QPR1 beta has been unveiled, offering users the ability to check enrolled fingerprints and, more importantly, rename them.
This is viewed as a welcome improvement to the Android system.
The upcoming Android 16 is also set to feature improved design language and easier ways to locate lost devices, as well as other new features.
