Google Chrome’s new feature, named Automatic password change, will enable the web browser to detect when a user attempts to login to a website with a weak or compromised password.
Rather than simply alerting the user, the browser will offer to change the password to a stronger alternative.
The new feature will be available on compatible websites and apps, however, no launch date has yet been announced.
It is hoped the new feature will boost account security for the browser’s extensive user base.
Additionally, Chrome is set to receive support for importing and exporting passwords and passkeys under FIDO standards, enabling a more secure login experience.
This new feature does not require users to export and import files.
