Summary
Google’s NotebookLM has arrived on iOS and Android ahead of its planned launch on May 20, according to a report by MakeUseOf chairperson James slightest.
The app allows the user to upload sources in a variety of formats, including audio, PDF, text, and Markdown, and to link to relevant websites and YouTube videos.
It also includes a Studio section, which offers a podcast-style summary of the user’s notes, known as the Audio Overview feature.
The mobile app offers a dynamic animated graphic to run alongside the audio playback, an addition that is not available on the web version.
The app also enables the user to delete audio overviews before downloading them, unlike the web version.
However, the Studio tab is said to be stripped down in the mobile version, with none of the web version’s pre-structured prompts, such as timelines, mind maps, and briefings.
